Support for a financing and implementation model for the expansion of childcare centers for children aged 0 to 3 years in Mexico

The Technical Assistance Partnership—Expert Deployment Mechanism (TAP-EDM) is collaborating with the National Institute for Women in Mexico (INMUJERES) and other key governmental partners to provide technical assistance in expanding childcare centers for children aged 0 to 3 years. The initiative will develop a sustainable financial model with a viable implementation, prioritizing children who do not have social security or access to these care centers.

INMUJERES, as the entity responsible for promoting and fostering conditions that enable non-discrimination, equal opportunities, and equal treatment between genders, plays a crucial role in this initiative. They are committed to coordinating the Inter-Institutional Technical Working Group to articulate care services and promote the creation of a National Care System.

The Canadian experts in Financial and Operational Models of Gender Equality and Childcare Policies will review the Mexican legislation on Childcare Centers for children aged 0 to 3 and consult with key stakeholders. The experts will identify best practices, design a sustainable financial and public policy model for childcare centers, and deliver a workshop in Mexico City to present results, outline the following steps, and train government officials on implementing this model.
