Share your expertise with the world!
The TAP Project is looking for leaders from a diversity of sectors, backgrounds, gender, cultural identities and regions across Canada to share their expertise with partner countries around the world.
Canadian Experts work with national entities in countries eligible for Canada’s official development assistance. The TAP project team of development professionals support these experts throughout their assignment with logistics, training and work planning.
A key component of TAP is awareness and increasing engagement of Canadians as partners and global citizens in support of Canada’s international assistance efforts. TAP experts will share their placement experiences with Canadians through extensive public engagement opportunities.
What you can expect from us
Canadian Experts recruited for a TAP Technical Assistance Initiative will undertake training and preparation with the TAP Team, including a Rapid Needs Assessment, work plan, intercultural effectiveness, medical clearance, and a risk-based security orientation.
The TAP Team has advisors to help with our Canadian Experts’ Technical Assistance work plans, ensuring the plans include best practices that align with Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy, such as gender equality and social inclusion, environment and climate action, and good governance and human rights, regardless of sector.
TAP Canadian Experts will be trained on duty of care and Alinea’s policy on code of conduct, including prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment. The TAP Team manages all financial transactions, including payment, expenses and reimbursements.
As part of their work with TAP, our experts share their placement experiences with Canadians through public engagement opportunities, including content sharing, conference appearances, speaking opportunities, and media appearances.
