Women’s Entrepreneurship Program

The Technical Assistance Partnership (TAP) initiative with one of Canada’s leading experts in gender equality and women’s economic empowerment, Sally Yacoub, is working collaboratively with the Government of Tunisia’s Ministry of Women, Family, Children, and Seniors to support the launch and development a National Programme for Women’s Entrepreneurship and Gender-Sensitive Investment.  

The program aims to help women entrepreneurs address many obstacles, including climate change and water scarcity. Working in partnership with the Ministry, the expert will provide training and capacity development to staff and select small or medium-sized enterprise (SMEs). 

The initiative is based on a value chain analysis and employability prospects, especially for rural women who represent more than 70% of the agricultural workforce. The training and capacity development is centered on services design, delivery, adoption of new technologies and adherence to the principle of environmental responsibility that will benefit new entrepreneurs to become pioneers in their field. It will enhance the stability and profitability of SMEs. 

Experts
