The Technical Assistance Partnership – Expert Deployment Mechanism (TAP-EDM) is collaborating with Canadian Technical Advisor, Jon Unruh and the Government of Vietnam’s National Assembly, specifically the Council of Ethnic Rights, to support the implementation of Vietnam’s Land Reform and Ethnic Minority Rights.
The project includes drafting decrees, regulations, guidelines, and other legal documents, thereby establishing comprehensive procedures and specifications to govern different facets of the law. In addition to these efforts, other activities include supporting consultations and engagements with ethnic minority groups, it will facilitate a technical visit to Canada and continue to provide support throughout the process of implementing the land law.
This initiative assesses the effects of land reform processes on ethnic minorities, ensuring that these processes remain relevant and appropriate within the context of Vietnam’s policies. It seeks to show respect for ethnic minorities affected by relocation and continued development of traditional forest lands.
