Gatineau, QC – July 2024 – The Technical Assistance Partnership-Expert Deployment Mechanism (TAP-EDM), implemented by Alinea International in collaboration with the University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy, is organizing a Lunch and Learn Event to explore “Alberta’s Contributions to Canadian International Development: Working Towards the Sustainable Development Goals through Responsible Resource Extraction”.
This in-person event will take place on July 24, 2024, from 11:45 AM to 1:30 PM, at the University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy; 906, 8th Avenue SW, Calgary, Room 234 (Second Floor).
The purpose of this event is to explore Canada’s contributions to strengthening international government partners in promoting and overseeing the development of the extractive sector in their countries, such as Kosovo, Malawi, Panama, Bhutan, Argentina, among others. Attendees will discover how Canadian technical expertise, including collaborations with the University of Calgary’s School for Public Policy (SPP), has supported advancements in sustainable practices and the implementation of effective policies and strategies around the world.
According to TAP-EDM Project Director Christopher Yeomans: “This project has “tapped” into Canada’s greatest resource; it’s people, from all walks of life, seven Provinces and a territory. We have been lucky to work with dynamic Albertan’s who are helping to strengthen the role of Government in responsible resource development. Come join us for Lunch at the U of C to meet people from across the country helping to spread Canadian values and ways of doing for stronger, healthier, and more accountable nations abroad.”
