Intern - MEL (Monitoring and Evaluation)

Sérgio is a TAP-EDM MEL Intern based at the Alinea International office in Gatineau, Québec. As an intern, he supports the TAP team in monitoring, evaluating, and learning processes for technical assistance initiatives. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and a Master’s Degree in Human Geography, both from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) in Brazil. He also has a Certificate of Completion in International Regional Social Planning from the University of Salamanca, Spain, and the Center for Iberian Studies.
His expertise includes program evaluation, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of primary healthcare programs in Brazil, and providing evidence-based recommendations for improvement. He has over twelve years of combined education, training, and work experience, which have allowed him to develop a unique blend of skills. Sérgio’s previous job included being a research assistant conducting systematic literature reviews on urban mobility and sustainable cities. Before this, as a lead researcher, he analyzed the integration of community advisory boards into the local government decision-making process.
