Dr. Yannick Beaudoin
Climate Change and Nature-Positive Solutions Director, Alinea International
Yannick brings decades of experience working with governments, local communities, industry, academia and other actors in more than 80 countries to his work at Alinea. As an economist and geologist, he designs innovation processes and approaches that increase human well-being while preserving and enhancing nature. He applies design thinking and economic systems transformation principles to advance Nature-positive outcomes. Previously a Director with the David Suzuki Foundation, his background also includes a decade supporting sustainable development through the United Nations Environment Programme and a decade in the mining sector with Falconbridge Ltd (now Glencore) and the Geological Survey in Canada. He also currently serves, by ministerial appointment, on the Canadian Environmental Domestic Advisory Group of the Comprehensive Canada-EU Trade Agreement.
Catherine Hill
Gender Advisor, Expert Deployment Mechanism for Climate Action in Africa Project / Senior Gender Advisor, Alinea International
For more than 20 years, Catherine has applied her gender equality and social inclusion experience on climate change adaptation, agrobiodiversity, and food security to strengthen the agriculture sector. She currently serves as the Gender Advisor on the Expert Deployment Mechanism for Climate Action in Africa Project. Her background includes supporting policy, programming, research, and capacity initiatives with governments, the UN, the CGIAR, and civil society across all regions. As a policy researcher, she supported UN commissions on science and technology (UNCSTD) and plant genetic resources (CGRFA), as well as the UN Inter-Agency Task Force on Rural Women. Catherine is a Founding Member of WOCAN: Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management.
Marco Heredia
Climate Diplomacy Consultant, Technical Assistance Partnership – Expert Deployment Mechanism Project
Marco Heredia is an environmental and climate diplomacy expert with over 23 years of experience designing, implementing, and evaluating policies, programs, and projects, specializing in climate change law and policy. As an expert for the Alinea Technical Assistance Partnership (TAP) initiative, Marco works collaboratively with the Maldives government, namely the Ministry of Environment Climate Change and Technology to support the learning opportunities by coaching the existing Maldives climate negotiators. As a negotiator in climate finance, Marco has been part of international discussions for the 24, 25, and 27 Conferences of the Parties (COPs) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Marco holds a Ph.D. in Law, a Master of Laws, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Mexico.
