Ronald Santos has over a decade of experience monitoring and evaluating development projects across various countries. He has extensive expertise in conducting monitoring and evaluation (M&E) projects in fragile, conflict-affected, and humanitarian contexts. Ronald has developed M&E information systems deployed globally, regionally, and at the country level. Over the past seven years, he has developed eight M&E systems across various sectors and geographic locations.
As a Canadian Technical Expert for the Technical Assistance Partnership – Expert Deployment Mechanism (TAP-EDM), Ronald is collaborating with the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) of the Government of the Philippines to enhance the monitoring and evaluation of the Philippine Development Plan (PDP). This plan outlines the government’s medium-term priorities, strategies, and socio-economic policies to achieve poverty reduction objectives and sustainable development goals (SDGs). The initiative will identify and strengthen institutional capacities crucial for establishing a robust monitoring and evaluation system that supports the effective implementation of the PDP.
Based in Ottawa, Ronald currently manages the development of an artificial intelligence (AI) machine learning predictive model. Ronald held various leadership roles in evaluation projects, including serving as Team Leader for the United Nations Development Assistance Framework Evaluation in Afghanistan (UNDAF Afghanistan). He holds master’s degrees in Sociology and Anthropology (MA) and Geographic Information Systems (MSc).
