Pedro Proaño Egas is a Canadian-Ecuadorian physician and public health adviser with over a decade of international experience in chronic disease prevention and health systems strengthening.
As a Canadian expert in public health and child nutrition for TAP-EDM, with Alinea International, he supports El Salvador’s national strategy to prevent childhood overweight and obesity. He also collaborates with the Canadian Health Care Council as an international consultant, contributing to quality improvement in global health systems.
Pedro has previously worked with the Pan American Health Organization, the Canadian Red Cross, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, leading culturally focused initiatives across Latin America and the Caribbean. His work combines technical expertise with community empowerment, grounded in equity-based, evidence-informed public health.
