Marc-Antoine Ladouceur

International Environment and Social Impact Assessment Expert

Marc-Antoine Ladouceur is an international environment and social impact assessment expert. Combining knowledge from the private sector and government organizations, he has over 20 years of experience in strategic environmental assessment (SEA), environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) of projects and environmental auditing.

As an expert for the Technical Assistance Partnership-Expert Deployment Mechanism (TAP-EDM) initiative, Marc-Antoine works in close collaboration and complementarity with expert Jean-Philippe Waaub. Both experts support the Government of Morocco’s Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development to strengthen the implementation of the country’s new law 49-17 on environmental assessment. This new law 49-17 will contribute to programs and initiatives more systematically considering environmental and social impacts by proposing, among other issues, realistic and gender-sensitive mitigation measures, ensuring that the initiative is inclusive and considerate of all stakeholders.

With expertise in environmental assessment, Marc-Antoine has coordinated interdisciplinary teams for major consulting firms and Canadian government roles, including five years with the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development of Canada’s team in Ottawa, where he audited and reviewed the quality of several ESIAs. He has led or reviewed environmental and social assessments (SEA and ESIA) across Canada and globally, mainly in Africa, covering energy, mining, transport, land-use planning, and sustainable development.

Based in Montreal, Marc-Antoine is an environmental and social assessment consultant and president of the consulting firm AUDITERRA Consultants Inc. He is also lecturer in environmental assessment at the bachelor’s and master’s levels at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Marc-Antoine holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in geography.
