Kathy Adams has over 20 years of experience in environmental and social consulting and banking, applying environmental and social safeguards, impact assessment, and international standards to projects in Asia, South America, the Middle East, and Africa. Kathy has led environmental and social due diligence and project management work with multilateral development banks and international finance institutions in various sectors, including extractives, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and transportation.
As a Canadian Technical Advisor for the Technical Assistance Partnership – Expert Deployment Mechanism (TAP-EDM), Kathy is collaborating with the Government of the Philippines’ Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to enhance its Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) policy and guidelines for the mining sector, specifically mining projects in climate-vulnerable and protected areas. Her work includes building the internal capacity of the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) and Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB).
Kathy has a Master of Applied Science in Environmental Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland. She also has a Gender Pro certificate from George Washington University. Kathy is a member of the International Association for Impact Assessment.
