Jorge Da Silva is a senior audit and compliance expert with over 35 years of experience in government, private sectors, development organizations, and multilateral institutions across Canada, the United States, and Latin America. He is a multilingual executive specializing in audit and compliance practices, professional and ethical standards, financial and risk management, accounting, and investigations.

As an expert for the Technical Assistance Partnership-Expert Deployment Mechanism (TAP-EDM) initiative, Jorge and other Canadian experts are collaborating with the Government of Ecuador’s Office of the Comptroller General (Auditor General) to support an expanded Performance Audit practice. The initiative aims to strengthen the performance audit practice to empower the Comptroller’s office to ensure the most effective use of state resources.

Earlier in his career, Jorge held senior roles as Executive Auditor at the Inter-American Development Bank Group, Chief Audit Executive at the Canadian International Development Agency, Director of Audit Services and Finance and Administration at the International Development Research Center and spent four years at the Supreme Audit Institution of Brazil. He has also served on advisory committees for the UN Migration, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and the Canadian Audit and Accountability Foundation.

Based in British Columbia, Jorge is the Chair of the Audit and Oversight Advisory Committee of the International Organization for Migration of the United Nations. He holds a Bachelor of Business and Public Administration from the University of Brasília, Brazil. Jorge is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
