Dennis Pitts

Since 1988, Dennis Pitts has held various positions with the Beaverbank-Kinsac Volunteer Fire Dept and now Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency (HRFE), including being the Training Captain responsible for HRFE’s Trench Rescue and Equipment & Machinery Rescue programs. Dennis has completed HUSAR-specific certifications in ICS Ops Section Chief, Incident Commander, & Planning Section Chief. He also has certifications in Haz Mat Operations, Structural Collapse Technician, Technical Search Technician & Heavy Equipment Rigging Specialist. Dennis has led HUSAR emergency deployments in response to Nova Scotia hurricanes, flooding, and wildfires. Dennis and his wife are still adjusting to their new life of being “empty nesters.” Relaxing in their backyard gazebo is a favourite pastime, and in the summer, being at their cottage and going on ATV adventures.
