Abdalla Hamid is an accomplished audit leader with over 20 years of senior management experience in Canada and internationally at public and private sector audit organizations. His expertise encompasses many areas, including performance audit, Information Technology (IT) audit, financial audit, audit quality assurance, audit practice management, IT management, and strategic planning. Abdalla has a proven track record in modernizing Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) operations and establishing and growing a high-performing performance audit department.
As an expert for the Technical Assistance Partnership-Expert Deployment Mechanism (TAP-EDM) initiative, Abdalla, along with other Canadian experts, is collaborating with the Government of Ecuador’s Office of the Comptroller General (Auditor General) to support an expanded Performance Audit practice. The initiative aims to strengthen the performance audit practice to empower the Comptroller’s office to ensure the most effective use of state resources.
Passionate about developing a culture of continuous improvement, Abdalla served as Director of Performance Audit for the Auditor General of New Brunswick and as the Deputy Auditor General at the National Audit Chamber in Sudan. He also worked at KPMG in the United Kingdom and Canada, and at the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development.
Based in New Brunswick, Abdalla is currently the Director of Professional Development at the Canadian Audit and Accountability Foundation (CAAF). He leads a dynamic team that designs and delivers premium training solutions for CAAF members and clients, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to meet evolving needs. Abdalla is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA) and a Fellow Certified Accountant (FCCA, UK). He also holds Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designations.
