Mexican Technical Visit to Canada in Support of Refugees
In the first week of July, TAP welcomed a delegation from Mexico as part of our ongoing collaboration with our experts at WUSC on the TAP Education Pathways for Refugees project. This event marked a significant milestone in the Mexican-Canadian partnership, highlighting our joint commitment to facilitating refugees’ access to education.
During the technical visit, our delegates had the valuable opportunity to engage with local partners and stakeholders who are also dedicated to similar efforts right here in Ottawa. This exchange of ideas and experiences promises to strengthen our collective impact on this crucial issue.
A special “meet and greet” evening was co-hosted by the TAP team and the Mexican Embassy. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Ambassador of Mexico to Canada, His Excellency Carlos Manuel Joaquin Gonzalez, the delegation representatives, Ms. Patricia Peña, Assistant Deputy Minister – Partnerships for Development Innovation, Global Affairs Canada, TAP Project Manager, Alex Reano, who was the Masters of ceremonies at the event, and our Vice President, Gayle Turner, who conveyed warm greetings on behalf of Alinea.
