The Technical Assistance Partnership—Expert Deployment Mechanism (TAP-EDM) is collaborating with the Government of Benin’s Observatoire de la Famille, de la Femme et de l’Enfant (OFFE) to support the delivery of comprehensive, inclusive, and gender-sensitive data. OFFE was created based on an agreement between the Government and its Technical and Financial Partners to help improve the performance of the Ministry in charge of Social Affairs in managing information on social action targets.
This initiative will review OFFE’s current approach and tools for collecting and disseminating data on gender-based violence cases to automate the system and improve data accuracy and quality.
With the support of a Canadian expert in information technology, a data visualization tool will be developed within the Système Intégré des Données relatives à la Famille, la Femme et l’Enfant (SIDoFFE) to support the OFFE in digitalizing the data collection infrastructure. In addition, an expert in Communications will support the OFFE in creating a communication strategy to improve database management and effectively disseminate statistics.
About the Observatoire de la Famille, de la Femme et de l’Enfant (OFFE)
OFFE is the public agency responsible for producing, managing, and utilizing information related to social protection and gender. It employs a web application called Système Intégré des Données relatives à la Famille, la Femme et l’Enfant – Nouvelle Génération (SIDoFFE-NG) to collect monthly statistical data on social action targets. For example, it provides figures on the number of gender-based violence victims (GBV) received by care facilities, such as the Integrated Center for the Care of GBV Victims and the Social Promotion Centers.
