About the Project
The Enhancing Community Climate Options for Adaptation and Resilience in Mongolia (ECCO-FARM) project will help rural Mongolians improve their livelihoods and build resilience by adopting Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), Agriculture Nature-based Solutions (AgNBS) and biodiversity protection for sustainable production, agricultural growth, food security and climate change adaptation (CCA).
The Role
Based in the UB project office, the Training and Communications Coordinator and Translator will work with the project team and coordinate project activities in close coordination with local and international experts. Detailed roles include, but not limit to the followings:
- Support the project in planning, developing and implementing capacity building activities; provide coordination and support in development of training curricular and delivery of the trainings.
- Organize training activities and maintain training records, working closely with international and national specialists, regional coordinators, line ministry and stakeholders.
Develop project communications strategy and plan, develop training reports, newsletters, press release and social media posts for web and social pages. - Develop public awareness materials, including posters, flyers, and digital contents.
- Support the project with written and oral translations.
The Training and Communications Coordinator and Translator will work under direct supervision of project Operations Manager and will collaborate with the Alinea communications team in Canada.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Bachelors’ level in related field;
- At least 5 years experience in community development projects;
- Excellent drafting, writing, editing skills in English and Mongolian languages;
- Excellent translation (both written and oral) skills from Mongolian to English and vice versa.
- Content development skills are desirable;
- On-time, well-organized, flexible, and able to work under minimal supervision in a multi-task and international environment;
- Strong communications, presentational and interpersonal skills;
- Takes initiative, and is able to inspire, motivate and manage a team;
- Demonstrates fortitude amidst challenges and perseveres despite the challenges.
